FAQ
The following institutions offer Killam doctoral scholarships, postdoctoral fellowships and other Killam awards to faculty members:
- Dalhousie University
- University of Alberta
- The University of British Columbia
- The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital)
- University of Calgary
The National Research Council Canada administers the National Killam Program consisting of:
- Killam Prizes
- Dorothy Killam Fellowships
The administration and delivery of the Killam Prizes and Killam Research Fellowships was transferred from the Canada Council for the Arts to the National Research Council in April 2022. The fellowship program has been renamed the Dorothy Killam Fellowships.
Each fellowship is valued at $80,000 per year, and is tenable for two years.
The Killam Prizes recognize inspiring scholars and thought leaders and are among Canada's most prestigious awards. The prizes are worth $100,000 each and are awarded in the following fields: Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities.
