Killam Chair at Dalhousie University, Axel Becke is the 2014 winner of NSERC's Gerhard Herzberg Canada Gold Medal for Science and Engineering, which comes with $1 million in funding.
Last year's recipient, Dr. Ford Doolittle, was also from Dalhousie, and also a past Killam Laureate.
